The research explores the meaning of self-portraiture as a political statement, centering Sylvia Pankhurst, Suffragette and Artist. Special attention is given to visual symbolism connected to the suffragette movement. The layout and typographical choices aim at constructing contrast between what is and what can be, rigidity and change, tradition and revolution.
